Life Insurance

Life insurance has long been made out to be this complex entity that is so hard to understand. Simply put, life insurance is in one of two categories, it is either permanent or temporary.

Temporary insurance is also known as term insurance, and although it has a litany of fancy names, after a specified term, it will expire. Term life insurance accumulates no cash value and is the least expensive of all life insurance policies.

Permanent life insurance is just that, it is permanent and as long as you pay a monthly, quarterly or annual premium the insurance will stay inforce. Permanent life insurance has many different names and risk factors and is more expensive than term insurance, but does provide cash value.

Because of the diversity in population and people’s lives, there is no one size that fits all solution.

Servant Financial group is here and committed to helping you navigate through one of the most important decisions that you can make for your family.

Group Retirement Plans

Qualified retirement plans come in two types: defined benefit and defined contribution. Defined benefit plans give employees a guaranteed payout and place the risk on the employer to save and invest properly to meet plan liabilities. A traditional pension is an example of a defined benefit plan. Under defined contribution plans, the amount employees receive in retirement depends on how well they save and invest on their own behalf during their working years. A 401(k) plan is an example of a defined contribution plan.

403b Retirement Plans

A 403(b) plan, also known as a tax-sheltered annuity (TSA) plan, is a retirement plan for certain employees of public schools, employees of certain tax-exempt organizations, and certain ministers. Individual accounts in a 403(b) plan can be any of the following types.

Risk Management Solutions

Risk management occurs everywhere in the financial world. It occurs when an investor buys low-risk government bonds over more risky corporate bonds, when a fund manager hedges his currency exposure with currency derivatives and when a bank performs a credit check on an individual before issuing a personal line of credit. Stockbrokers use financial instruments like options and futures, and money managers use strategies like portfolio and investment diversification, in order to mitigate or effectively manage risk.

Church Succession Solutions

Church Succession solutions involve identifying and developing new pastoral leaders who can replace old leaders when they leave, retire or die. In the church, it entails developing internal people with the potential to fill key leadership positions in the church.

College Planning

A 529 Plan is an education savings plan operated by a state or educational institution designed to help families set aside funds for future college costs. It is named after Section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code which created these types of savings plans in 1996.

IRA Rollovers

A special type of traditional individual retirement account into which employees can transfer assets from their former employer’s retirement plan when they change jobs or retire. The purpose of a rollover IRA is to maintain the tax-deferred status of those assets.

Estate Planning Solutions

Estate planning is the act of preparing for the transfer of a person’s wealth and assets after his or her death. Assets, life insurance, pensions, real estate, cars, personal belongings, and debts are all part of one’s estate.
